Bible Study For Women

Hello ladies! Thanks for dropping in! We're here to tell you a little bit about the Bible Study for Women that used to run on a weekly basis. Since our College and Careers group as a whole had been growing numerically the past number of years, a few of us gals thought it would be beneficial if we got together on another night of the week to have a little more in-depth look into the Bible... without the guys! Thus began the beginning of the Bible Study for Girls. I know, I know, the name makes you want to do cartwheels, doesn't it!!? But we figured we'd just say it like it is!

So here's the scoop:

We met every Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. And during our last study we took a look at the Gospel of Luke and our format was pretty laidback, which is how we like it - we pick a passage and then all of us have a week to see what we can discover. Then, on Tuesday night, we'd all come together and discuss what we have learned. Sounds simple enough, eh?! There's always a "leader", to help divert us from too many cans of worms, and this format has really proved to be effective and has allowed everyone to get involved as much as they want. It's also given us a chance to study God's Word on our own, and learn how to search the Scriptures. Basically, we get the best of both worlds!

So what's the point?

Well, we're just a group of women who desire to know God's Word better, so we can live it out better. We figured a great way to achieve this goal is to do it together, and to put aside some time each week to pursue this goal together. So it's all about getting to know Jesus within the context of friendship; it's all about practical theology; it's all about accountability and trust; and ultimately, it's all about becoming like Jesus.

Please Note:

While the Bible Study for Girls no longer meets as it used to, there still is an opportunity for female young adults to join a small group that meets outside of College and Careers. If you are interested in finding our more please email timmins@collegeandcareers.ca.
